Departing from Ponta Delgada at 08h30, we will drive by the road of Covoada towards Pico do Carvão. Our hike will start at Mata do Canário and will end at the parish of Sete Cidades. It will have a total distance of 11 km which will take us about 5 hours hike.

We will start our trail by the aqueduct of Muro das Nove Janelas “Nine Windows Wall” ascending to the highest point of the northern hillside of Sete Cidades with the view over the Blue Lake.

By than we will hike on the rim of the crater of Sete Cidades enjoying the wonderful views over the north side of the Island as well the beautiful Blue and Green Lake and their surroundings, the volcano crater!

At the Miradouro da Cumeeira, which is about half way of your hike, we will have a breave stop to eat while enjoying the marvellous view over the lakes.

After your picnic we will continue our hike towards the parish of Sete Cidades, time that we will return to Ponta Delgada around 16h00.

This hike includes; Tour guide and transportation.

It’s required a minimum of 4 adults attendees to begin this hike. If you a party of less than 4 attendees, please contact us.

We consider this hike as medium difficulty.
